Road closures:

Be Loud. Be Positive.

Your energy matters more than you think. Cheer loudly, call runners by name if you know them, and keep the encouragement positive and simple. Sometimes one voice at the right moment can completely change a runner’s day.

Pick a Cheer Zone

Choose one or two locations along the course to watch your runner pass by. Seeing familiar faces during a tough stretch of the race gives runners a huge mental boost and helps break the miles into manageable pieces.

Bring Signs, Cowbells & Team Spirit

Creative signs, matching shirts, pom-poms, and cowbells make the course more fun and memorable. Keep messages encouraging, funny, and easy to read from a distance.

Help Them Prepare for the Finish

The finish line can feel overwhelming after 13.1 miles. Have water, dry clothes, a phone charger, snacks, or recovery items ready for your runner after they finish inside J. Birney Crum Stadium.

Celebrate the Effort, Not Just the Time

Every runner has a different goal. Whether they set a personal record, finished their first race, or simply made it to the finish line, acknowledge the work it took to get there. That support sticks with athletes long after race day.

Reconnect After the Race

After crossing the finish line inside J. Birney Crum Stadium, runners will enter the post-race recovery and food area. Spectators are welcome inside the stadium to reconnect, celebrate, take photos, and enjoy the post-race food together. We recommend choosing a meetup spot ahead of time since cell service and crowds can make it difficult to find each other immediately after the race.
